WNB Financial is pleased to announce that Greg Oelrich has joined the Bank as a Mortgage Loan Officer at its office in Eau Claire, WI. In his new role, Oelrich will assist and educate new and existing clients about home ownership, while providing customized products and services to make home ownership or home improvement an affordable reality. He brings 13 years of financial services experience in the areas of insurance, investments, and mortgage origination.
The Bank of Elk River is proud to welcome Andy Meyer as a new addition to the commercial lending staff. Meyer attended the University of St. Thomas in St. Paul and earned a Bachelor of the Arts degree in Finance. After graduation he joined The Bank of Elk River as a Credit Analyst for four years. 
Union Bank & Trust welcomes Neil Anderson as the new Senior Vice President of Commercial Lending. Anderson will take over the leadership of the bank’s Commercial Lending Team, assisting the bank’s commercial customers on developing solutions to meet their business needs and provide long-term relationship banking.  Mr. Anderson expects to be active in community organizations as his previous involvement included leadership in the chamber of commerce, roles on city commissions, an active Rotary Member and supporter of veteran’s organizations. Mr. Anderson is a former military officer (Major – U.S. Army) with over 15 years of honorable service to his country and state as a former Member of the Minnesota National Guard.
First National Bank of Waseca is pleased to announce the addition of Susan Eberline as Branch Manager of its Ellendale and Hope locations. Following her training at the main branch, Eberline assumed her new position of Branch Manager following Garry Gordinier’s retirement at the end of December.
Tim Ulrich, President/COO of Citizens Bank & Trust Co., Hutchinson, announced several staffing changes:
Ben Beckman was hired as Vice President of Commercial and Ag Lending. He holds a Finance Degree and Master of Business Administration from St. Cloud State University. Ben is currently the Treasurer of the Dassel Development Corporation, a member of The Rotary Club of Hutchinson and the Dassel-Cokato Scholarship Selection Committee. He is also active in the Darwin Lions Club and his church.
Carleen Hamilton was promoted to Finance Officer. Carleen joined the bank in 1978 and has served in various positions, most recently as Accounting Manager. Hamilton’s other duties include Security Officer and Personnel Officer.
Mandy M. Baldry was promoted to Assistant Vice President. Mandy also serves as a member of the Bank’s Marketing and Credit Committee. She is also a member of the Think Local Committee, Tim Orth Memorial Foundation Committee, Hutchinson Area Dollars for Scholars Committee, and a Junior Achievement Volunteer.
RiverWood Bank recently promoted employee-owner Kurt Knott to President of Bemidji Branches, overseeing operations at both Bemidji locations. Kurt is well-known in the Bemidji community and surrounding region serving area businesses with RiverWood for more than a decade.
The Bank of Elk River welcomed Madeline Sadler as the newest team member and Small Business Administration (SBA) Loan Manager. Sadler joins The Bank of Elk River with an MBA from Bethel and a BA from Metropolitan State with a degree in Finance and Economics. Sadler has over 13 years of banking experience including Loan Operations Manager, Loan Portfolio Manager and has specifically launched and managed small business lending programs for the last four years.
Janesville State Bank is pleased to announce Sean Finley as Assistant Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. In this role, he will be responsible for finance and accounting functions in addition to consumer, small business and residential mortgage lending. He brings over 10 years of finance and accounting experience working with community banks on financial forecasting, mergers and acquisitions, and tax and regulatory matters. Sean was most recently a Senior Manager at Eide Bailly LLP in Mankato. 
Citizens Bancorporation of New Ulm, Inc., parent company of Citizens Bank Minnesota, is pleased to announce the following promotions:
Julia Baumgartner has been promoted to SVP/Chief Operations Officer. In her new role, Baumgartner will be responsible for ensuring that the bank has the proper operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and people systems in place for the day-to-day operation of the Bank.
Tim Hoscheit has been promoted to SVP/Chief Credit Officer. In his new role, Hoscheit will be responsible for the review of the bank’s loan portfolio on a continuing basis while providing support, direction, credit information, and loan policies and procedures to ensure overall quality.
John Rieser has been promoted to SVP/Chief Financial Officer. In his new role, Rieser will be responsible for all accounting and financial analysis for the Bank, including budgeting, asset/liability management, financial reporting and tax planning.
Scott Tauer was promoted to VP/Branch Manager, La Salle. Tauer has over 15 years of lending experience and specializes in Agricultural lending and Crop Insurance. He is also a 2018 graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Pat Brennan was promoted to Senior Vice President. He is a graduate of the Minnesota Bankers Association’s Commercial Lending School and Agricultural Lending School as well as a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.. 
Shirley Laraway was promoted to Senior Vice President. She is a graduate of University of Northern Iowa with a B.A. degree in Finance and Management. Shirley has 30 plus years of lending experience and specializes in Mortgage Lending.
Kevin Yager was promoted to Senior Vice President. He is a graduate of the University of Minnesota with a B.A. degree in Ag Business and Economics. He is also a graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Colorado. 
Brant Drill was promoted to Vice President. He is a Graduate of South Dakota State University with a B.S. degree in Agricultural Business. He is also a 2013 graduate of the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Jenn Wendorff was promoted to Assistant Cashier/Assistant Director of Client Services. Wendorff was promoted to a Personal Banker in 2018. She has an Associate’s Degree in Business Management from Rasmussen College.
Mark Denn, recently promoted to Executive Vice President, is now taking on the day-to-day management of the bank. Current bank President Lou Geistfeld has announced his plans to retire at the end of 2019 at which time Denn will assume those responsibilities.
First Resource Bank, with offices in the Wisconsin community of St. Croix Falls, and the Minnesota communities of Lino Lakes, Stillwater and Apple Valley, announced the hire of Matthew Gassen as Vice President – Commercial Banking. In his role, Gassen will focus on Commercial Banking relationships in the Twin Cities area. Gassen graduated from the University of North Dakota with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications.
First Resource Bank also announced the promotion of Justine Seidel to VP – Commercial Lending. In her role, Seidel will continue to support the bank’s growing loan portfolio by maintaining and developing client relationships. She has nine years of banking experience and is a graduate of Metropolitan State University with a degree in Business Administration.
RiverWood Bank promoted employee-owner Ryan Sleiter to vice president of the Morris branch. Ryan is well-known in the Morris community and surrounding region serving area farms and businesses with RiverWood for the past two years and in the banking industry for nearly two decades.

Truman L. Jeffers

The MBA mourns the loss of Truman Jeffers, who served as the MBA’s Executive Vice President from 1970-1995. Jeffers led the industry through many challenges in the 70s and 80s, personally impacting state and federal legislation and creating several banking programs. His full obituary can be found here.  

  Retirement


William "Bill" Rosacker is retiring as President of United Bankers’ Bank (UBB) after more than 34 years with the company and over 51 years in banking.  A native of St. Paul, Minnesota, Rosacker took the reins as President of Independent State Bank of Minnesota (ISBM), now UBB, in 1985. During his tenure, Rosacker grew the bank from $30 million in assets to more than $900 million; and total employees from fewer than 20 to 132. Rosacker will officially step down on April 30, 2019. 

  Board Appointments


Sterling State Bank is pleased to announce that Christopher D. Nelson, Esq. has joined the Bank’s Board of Directors. Currently Mr. Nelson serves as Vice President of Development for the Catholic Community Foundation based in St. Paul, MN. In this role, Chris serves as the chief fundraising officer and manager of philanthropic services. The Foundation manages approximately $350 million in assets and is the 6th largest grant maker in the state of Minnesota. Chris, his wife, and young son live in Plymouth.
