Who Should Participate

This workshop is suited for employees with AML/BSA responsibilities who have a basic understanding of anti-money laundering laws and regulations, including BSA officers, compliance officers, auditors, head tellers, and risk managers. Day 2 will focus on intermediate and advanced topics for BSA Officers who have been in the position for a while but need training on current BSA challenges.

Program Topics

Day 1: BSA:  AML Hot Topics

This session is designed to be a higher-level overview of the day to day responsibilities of the BSA Officer.
We will cover the areas needed to provide you with a good understanding of your roles and responsibilities and what examiner expectations are of this position including:

Overview of risk based BSA exams
Beneficial ownership updates and frequent exam findings
Updated CTR completion rules
SAR FAQs and frequent SAR exam findings
SAR or No SAR! – when to file and when to investigate.
Updated regulatory CDD/EDD expectations
Evaluating risk rating methodologies
BSA exam preparation
Day 2: BSA:  Advanced Issues and Emerging Trends

BSA compliance is not just about properly completing regulatory reports, but also being aware of the emerging trends that face the banking industry. This session is dedicated to emerging hot topics and trends that face the banking industry. We will cover the areas needed to provide you a good understanding of your roles and responsibilities and what examiner expectations are of this position, including:

Managing remote audits
Overview of the AMLA Act of 2020
Guide to banking cannabis
Deciphering NGOs versus NPOs
BSA/CIP requirements for accounts opened online
Banking NRAs and foreign customers
Deconstructing regulatory enforcement actions
As part of the paid attendance, each attendee will receive an updated comprehensive BSA/AML policy which will include a comprehensive cannabis and hemp policy.

Registration Fee (This fee includes materials)

Member: $295 per day or $500 for both days

Second person from same bank:  $245 per day or $490 for both days  
Qualified non-member bank:
$500 per day or $1,000 for both days

NOTE:  A bank may purchase one registration for the entire seminar and send different people to each day. Please submit separate registration forms for each person.  Only one textbook will be included.

This webinar will be held via Zoom. Attend virtually from the comfort of your home or office! You will receive the webinar link the day prior to the webinar. Please note: Each link is uniquely coded and may only be used by the individual registered for the course. Cancellation Policy

The MBA reserves the right to cancel programs due to insufficient enrollment, instructor illness, or other reasons. Participants wishing to cancel must inform the MBA in writing prior to the event. Send cancellation notices to A cancellation fee of 25% of the program cost will be charged for withdrawing, or you may send a substitute. The full program fee will be charged for withdrawing after the event has taken place or a no-show.
