Job Description

The Human Resources Intern supports daily HR operations while gaining hands-on experience in the banking industry. This role assists with various HR functions, including payroll processing, recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, and employee engagement. The intern will also help organize HR documents, maintain compliance, and contribute to workplace culture initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in processing payroll changes, including employee information updates, promotions, and benefits deductions.
  • Screen candidates, coordinate interview schedules, and help prepare offer letters.
  • Support the onboarding process, including converting onboarding packets to a more electronic format for efficiency.
  • Organize and maintain HR files, including scanning documents and updating employee records.
  • Assist with benefits administration, including creating a benefits portal and ensuring enrollments are up to date.
  • Maintain and organize HR storage areas and materials.
  • Help centralize HR checklists and improve process documentation.
  • Plan and coordinate employee engagement events and companywide activities.
  • Offer ideas to improve HR processes, compliance, and employee experience.
  • Ensure compliance with bank policies, labor laws, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with various HR projects and administrative tasks as needed.
Hours
May – August, Mon – Fri, 30-40 hours per week

Salary Description
$20.00

Role Qualifications

Education:
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in human resources, business administration, finance, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in an HR-related internship or administrative role preferred.
Other Skills/Characteristics:
  • Maintains confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Provides responsive and professional employee support.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently.
  • Brings a proactive approach and new ideas to the organization.
Working Conditions:
  • In-office position with standard business hours. May – August, Mon – Fri, 30-40 hours per week
  • Professional office environment requiring regular interaction with employees and management.
