Job Description
JOB SUMMARY

The Credit Analyst reviews and analyzes consumer and commercial customer's credit conditions and develops loan presentations to be used by loan officers and committees in making lending decisions, and reviews commercial and consumer appraisals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Work with loan officers, borrowers, and other financial institutions in obtaining proper documentation required to conduct credit investigations.
  • Analyze the financial condition of consumer and commercial customers and their industries. Spread business financial statements and interpret specific industry trends. Perform business and personal cash flows and complete a detailed collateral analysis.
  • Accurately develop a loan presentation with analyzed information to be used by loan officers and committees in making suitable lending decisions.
  • Review loan documentation to make sure loan presentations contain accurate information.
  • Work with and mentor other Credit Analysts.
  • Maintain communication with loan officers and loan support about the statuses of credit requests. Provide feedback regarding loan structures.
  • Order and review commercial and consumer appraisals.
  • Complete and maintain the Banks Problem Loan Reports.
  • Understand and comply with all Bank policies and procedures. Obey all federal and state regulations.
  • Ongoing training as required by regulations and the Bank.
  • Interact with bank customers as needed to obtain and provide information to ensure that the Bank is meeting their needs and expectations.
  • Work with bank staff on other projects as directed and maintain a favorable image for the Bank.
NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Originate committee meetings and record the minutes. Add proper signatures to approved loan presentations. Prepare reports for presentation to the Board of Directors.
  • Maintain the Credit Analyst Summary, Term, and Annual Review Worksheets. Make sure credit requests are processed in a timely manner.
  • Perform loan file reviews.
  • Maintain a presence within the community in order to cultivate new relationships for the Bank.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • Must have good leadership skills and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely with staff and customers using oral and/or written methods of communication.
  • Must be able to read, understand, and decipher complex financial statements and reports to protect the Bank from losses.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • Position is 40 hours per week. Work schedule can fluctuate to greater than 40 hours depending on needs.
  • Modern, clean working environment with up to date office equipment including computers, telephone, copy/fax machine, printer, etc.
  • The noise level is usually quiet to moderate.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • Must have consistent, punctual, and regular physical attendance at work and other work related functions.
  • Requires being able to sit or stand for long portions of the work day.
  • Need to lift various items including but not limited to loan files.
  • Expect repetitive keying motions while using the computer.
Education & Experience
  • A college degree in Business, Finance, or related field is required.
  • At least four years of previous banking experience preferred.
