Job Description

The Market President’s main role is to execute business development strategies to build a high-quality commercial and agricultural loan portfolio for the market branch. The Market President will also work to monitor quality, compliance, and trends of loan portfolio, and oversee bank operations to facilitate outstanding customer interactions while ensuring bank safety and soundness.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  1. Implements business development strategies to grow the commercial and agricultural loan portfolio for the market branch by identifying and analyzing potential loan markets and executes on opportunities with existing and prospective customers.
  2. Builds relationships with stakeholders that support our customers and projects a positive presence of MBT Bank in the marketplace through sales calls and participation in community activities and marketing events.
  3. Develops and maintains a high-quality loan portfolio to ensure customer retention along with revenue generation while staying in accordance with loan policy guidelines and underwriting standards to ensure maximum profitability to minimize potential losses.
  4. Make credit decisions within lending authority and ensure compliance within MBT Bank loan policy. Ability to accurately interpret Federal laws, State laws, and banking regulations to maintain overall compliance.
  5. Maintains knowledge of all MBT products and services and makes referrals to MBT Insurance, MBT Investments or Retail Bankers as appropriate.
  6. Oversees branch operations to ensure customers’ needs are met and business objectives are achieved. Actively facilitates outstanding service to bank customers through individual interactions and management of staff performance.
  7. Ensures policies and procedures are followed to maintain the safety and soundness of the bank.
  8. Provides leadership and direction to all branch staff to ensure performance objectives are met by building and maintaining an effective and integrated team within the branch.

Education & Experience

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in business, finance or related fields preferred.

Experience:
At least 7 years’ experience in lending and prior supervisory experience.
