Job Description

The Loan Officer is responsible for managing commercial and consumer lending relationships with new and existing customers of the bank.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for evaluating creditworthiness through processing loan applications and underwriting
  • Work with clients to build relationships and determine suitable banking product options
  • Obtain and assess financial information and credit histories necessary for loan decisions
  • Work closely with lending team in performing due diligence on the lending process, from application to closing
  • Monitor and grow the bank's loan portfolio
  • Structure loans within the bank's lending policy and procedures
  • Prepare financing proposals/term sheets and commitment letters as applicable
  • Review loan documentation and work closely with loan administration to ensure complete and accurate documents for closings as well as preparing, maintaining, and updating loan files
  • Serve as an active member of Loan Committee
  • Prepare monthly reports as requested by management
  • Excel in building strong relationships within the community
  • Actively participate in community activities and civic organizations to promote the Bank
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management
  • Ensure compliance with banking regulations and bank policies and procedures

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or professional experience in related field
  • Prior lending experience with credit analysis background preferred
  • In depth knowledge of underwriting and loan documentation
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of lending regulations
  • High degree of integrity and drive for excellence
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products and lending software
