Board Member

Reports to: Chair of the Board

Position Summary:

Oversees the activities of top management and provides overall leadership for the Bank. Collaborates with CEO in establishing objectives, plans and policies. Consistently attends meetings of the Bank’s Board of Directors and committee meetings.

Primary Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  1. Regularly attends board meetings and important related meetings.
  2. Makes serious commitment to participate actively in committee work.
  3. Volunteers for and willingly accepts assignments and completes them thoroughly and on time.
  4. Stays informed about committee matters, prepares for meetings, and reviews and comments on minutes and reports.
  5. Gets to know other committee members and builds a collegial working relationship that contributes to consensus.
  6. Is an active participant in the committee's annual evaluation and planning efforts.

Role Qualifications:

Education
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.), preferably in finance or business
  • Ongoing formal Director education
Experience
  • A minimum of ten years of commercial business, accounting, economics, insurance and/or small business operations experience
  • 8-10 years senior management and/or business owner
  • Active involvement in the Bank community or market
  • Willingness/ability to develop business for the Bank
