Come Grow with Us and Join an Award-Winning Organization! Stearns Bank is looking for a Financial Analyst. This is a remote-eligible position based out of our Financial Center in St. Cloud, Minnesota.

JOB SUMMARY

Prepare financial statements and reports. Conducts research and analysis to provide management with definitive financial data and recommendations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Reporting and Analysis

  • Complete the quarterly call reports for bank charters.
  • Responsible for reconciliation of various general ledger accounts and bank-controlled deposit accounts and reviewing reconciliation’s prepared by others.
  • Maintain recurring GL block entries.
  • Maintain various accrual calculations.
  • Assist with information gathering for financial audits, regulatory exams, quarterly tax estimates and other requests as needed.
  • Assist in researching questions from auditors as needed.
  • Prepare/analyze internal management financial reports.
  • Assist with the budgeting process and review of trends and variances to budget.
  • Assist in researching questions from auditors as needed.
  • Investment safekeeping reconciliation to bond accounting reports.
  • Assist in monitoring public funds daily requirements.
  • Assists in preparing year-end financial statements for consolidated company.
  • Promptly reports any identified material errors or suspicious activity to the Controller and monitors through to resolution.
  • Perform special projects as assigned, including research, analysis, tracking, and reporting.
  • Stay abreast of new accounting or regulatory pronouncements.

Financial Reporting - Other

  • Assist with state tax filings.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting for Trust Preferred Securities.
  • Monitor Bank Controlled DDA/Savings accounts and periodic review of selected individual recons.
  • Review and maintenance of accounting policies.
  • Performs other tasks requested by senior finance management as they relate to the bank and its functions.
  • Renew annual Business Registrations –State of Minnesota.
  • Complete all required training.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all legal and regulatory compliance issues as they pertain to this position.
  • Loss prevention and security as applicable for this position.

Education & Experience

REQUIREMENTS

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time, twist, bend, sit, walk use hands to twist, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, such as computer mouse, computer keyboard, calculator, stapler, telephone, staple puller, etc., reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration or Finance from a four-year college or university; or one to three years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient on Microsoft Excel and Word software.
  • Strong oral/written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and enjoy working with numbers.
  • Flexible.
  • Excellent time management skills.
