JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for assisting in the daily functions of Human Resources and work collaboratively with the Human Resources department to ensure the seamless flow of administrative and HR-related duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide support for the Human Resources Department on a daily basis.
  • Assist with recruiting including conducting phone interviews, scheduling in-person interviews, familiarizing oneself with all job descriptions and ensuring candidates progress through the hiring process in a timely manner.
  • Communicate employer information and benefits to applicants.
  • Prepare correspondence to candidates and process application documents.
  • Assist with onboarding process.
  • Enter data into multiple HRIS databases.
  • Compile reports and spreadsheets as requested.
  • Perform payroll/HR related bank account reconciliations.
  • Maintain training records for organization.
  • Verify and approve invoices received from vendors are accurate and submitted to AP for payment in a timely manner.
  • Maintain, record and issue building access fobs to employees at St. Cloud locations.
  • Scan and maintain department documents in M-Files.
  • Administer Stearns Wear program.
  • Answer HR-related questions including general questions regarding HR processes and procedures; escalate issues as needed.
  • Stay current on the company’s organizational structure, personnel policies and federal and state laws regarding employment practices.
  • Support special projects and other designated activities as assigned.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all legal and regulatory compliance issues as they pertain to this position.
  • Loss prevention and security as applicable for this position.
  • Complete all required training.
  • Assist on special projects or tasks, as needed.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to understand and follow instructions in English.
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time, twist, bend, sit, walk use hands to twist, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, such as computer mouse, computer keyboard, calculator, stapler, telephone, staple puller, etc., reach with hands and arms, balance, stoop, kneel, talk or hear.
  • Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Education & Experience

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical program; and/or 2 years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Willing to train a new graduate.
  • Excellent PC skills working with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, be responsive to changing goals, priorities and needs.
  • Ability to work in a timely fashion on multiple tasks with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to interact positively with a variety of personalities internally and externally.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Ability to be a flexible, effective team player.
