We are currently seeking a dynamic Commercial Lender to join our team in Hutchinson as Vice President. As Vice President and as a member of the executive management team, you will help oversee the strategic direction of all lending operations to produce quality loan growth, portfolio mix, and product development. You will prospect for loan relationships in the bank's target market using your local networks and personal connections. You will also be the cornerstone of our superior customer service and will be charged with ensuring customer satisfaction at the Hutchinson Office.

What You'll be Doing:

  • Community Banking- You will commit to a holistic understanding of community banking and commercial lending, and our products and services so you can guide customers through the process efficiently and effectively. You will use this knowledge to craft personalized financial solutions that are right for both the customer and HSB.
  • Client Management- You will prioritize maintaining and forming strong relationships with customers that are convenient and appropriate for them, at our branch locations or their place of business. You will evaluate how HSB can support each customer by developing unique and individualized financing solutions.
  • Sales and Business Development- You will engage existing and prospective customers to learn about their business and vision for its growth. You will expand the scope of HSB’s relationship with its customers by educating them on all that HSB has to offer, from deposit products to retail lending solutions and everything in between.
  • Profitability- You will help HSB grow by expanding your portfolio and branch deposits though sales.
  • Risk Mitigation- You will proactively manage customer needs and suggest solutions to avoid delinquencies and overdrafts. You will review documents carefully to eliminate errors that could lead to loss and will use your lending knowledge to secure all commercial loans in accordance with HSB’s loan policy.
  • Branch Leadership- You will lead and motivate the Hutchinson team to perform at a superior level.

Other Responsibilities Include:

This position will be responsible for interviewing prospective loan applicants, underwriting, structuring, and the closing of commercial, agricultural, and consumer loans, as well as servicing an existing portfolio. This position will require business development and community involvement.

Education & Experience

You Will Need

  • A minimum of 7 -10 years in lending management; or 3-5 years of senior lending management experience in a comparably sized, customer-focused financial institution is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree
