Job Description

Reporting To: Chief Credit Officer

The credit analyst position provides financial analysis and portfolio management of the Bank’s commercial, commercial real estate and consumer lending activities. Major responsibilities include the completion of credit reviews of new and existing loans, and problem loan identification and management as needed. The credit analyst position may also be required to complete loan operation functions including various due diligence requirements and collateral evaluation of new and existing relationships.

Primary Responsibilities

  1. Prepare credit reviews on new and existing lending relationships.
  2. Provide financial analysis commensurate with the size, structure and risk associated of the related loan. v Make recommendations to senior management based on credit and financial analysis. v Monitor lending relationships via early warning reporting and assist in the management of problem loans.
  3. Prepare minutes and materials for senior Loan Committees.
  4. Complete financial spreads and analysis of borrower’s financial condition and trends.
  5. Obtain, organize, and review credit information on new and existing relationships.
  6. Organize and prioritize workflow to assure that assigned duties are completed on a timely basis.
  7. As necessary travel with the lending officer on customer visits.
  8. As necessary communicate with borrower or borrower representatives to obtain information.
  9. Conduct field audits as necessary to review real estate, accounts receivable, inventories, equipment, and floor plan collateral.
  10. Provide appropriate reporting on a periodic basis.
  11. Perform other duties as needed.

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Strong written and communication skills.
  • Extensive background in financial analysis, including ability to review financial statements and tax returns and experience utilizing financial spreading software.
  • Strong background in commercial and commercial real estate lending.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.

Position Requirements>

  • This position requires 5 years progressive experience in credit analysis with exposure to commercial and commercial real estate lending.
  • College Degree is preferred.
  • The ability to document and communicate recommendations to senior management.
