Job Description

General Description:

  • Assist and support Credit Risk Manager in the analysis and portfolio management of new and existing borrowers.
  • Provide critical back-up support to Book-keeping, Customer Service and Teller Line functions as necessary.
  • Co-Administer Laser-Pro and Deposit-Pro documentation software.
  • Support bank-wide compliance initiatives.
  • Spread income statements and balance sheets into software for common size and trend analysis; assist in preparing credit presentations.
  • Monitor and calculate financial covenants and ratios to ensure borrower compliance with executed legal documents.
  • Review collateral audits, analyzes accounts receivable aging reports and borrowing base certificates. Update the FISERV loan system with current availability information.
  • May accompany bank staff on the client sales calls for the purpose of professional skill development and to gather information for underwriting of commercial credit requests.

Accountabilities:

  • Spread financial statements as requested. Maintain the bank’s financial spreading software in order to provide overall support and assistance to Lenders in the financial analysis process.
  • Review incoming financial statements. Update and/or complete financial spreads and covenant monitoring worksheets.
  • Provide written financial statement analysis for credit presentations, file comments and annual reviews. Maintain the report of review due and works with lenders to keep comments current.
  • Prepare commercial loan documents.
  • Monitor and review floorplan advances and payments to ensure loan agreements are enforced on a timely basis to protect the bank’s interests.
  • Manage, portals, reports and software to assist in departmental functions such as CECL, appraisal engagement, vendor management etc.
  • Assist in mentorship of junior bank staff to aid in employee professional development and to increase organization wide knowledge.

  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of Loan Policy as approved by the Board of Directors.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of service standards for the department and departments that are a part of the workflow for this position.
  • Provide open communication to supervisor or manager when service standards cannot be met due to training needs, equipment problems, quality of work received from others.
  • Uphold the employment guidelines outlined in the employee handbook and/or union contract.
  • Develop and maintains knowledge of compliance and internal control requirements necessary to complete the job.
  • Perform duties in compliance with policy, procedure and process.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in Business Administration/Accounting or Finance preferred. Previous financial services experience required.
