Job Description

Accountable To: VP Credit Risk Review
Status: Exempt

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive reviews of individual credits and loan relationships to ensure that acceptable credit standards are maintained
  • Analyze borrower financial statements, review credit presentations and loan documentation; make conclusions regarding appropriateness of management-assigned risk ratings
  • Identify exceptions to loan policy and loan structures or underwriting that may present risk to the bank
  • Complete high-quality work while meeting deadlines established in the review plan
  • Work cross functionally and communicate directly with lending teams and management; identify key issues as they arise
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the bank’s lending policies and relevant regulatory guidance
  • Responsible for preparing reports for senior leadership and the Board of Directors
  • Contribute to the development of new/improved credit risk management practices and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

Education & Experience

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field3+ years of banking experience; commercial loan underwriting experience preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, critical thinking ability, accuracy
  • Ability to effectively prepare reports to senior management
  • Knowledge and understanding of credit underwriting and/or loan review concepts and practices
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
