The Credit Analyst is responsible for analyzing and interpreting financial data to evaluate the credit
worthiness of prospective and existing borrowers. This will include the analysis of business and
commercial loan requests to develop thorough and objective credit presentations, while ensuring the
Bank’s lending policies are followed.
1. CREDIT ANALYSIS
- Analyze credit worthiness of borrowers, providing an objective analysis to assist lenders and
management in determining loan eligibility.
- Prepare credit presentations for both existing and prospective borrowers to assist in the
underwriting process.
- Determine borrower’s repayment ability and ascertain the Bank’s adequacy of collateral position.
- Suggest loan asset quality ratings based on the presentation and relationship review.
- Review guarantor’s net worth, financial position and personal repayment history by obtaining
and interpreting credit bureau reports, personal financial statements and personal tax returns.
2. CREDIT ADMINISTRATION
- Prepare annual reviews for all commercial borrowers, using the same analysis techniques as
those used in new credit requests to determine ongoing credit worthiness of the borrower.
- Review interim statements provided by borrowers to determine both positive and negative
trends.
- Review other documentation provided by borrowers, ensuring compliance with loan covenants.
3. COMMERCIAL CUSTOMER SERVICE
- Serve as secondary contact for commercial customers. Assist loan officers with business
development opportunities, and clients with problems or concerns, as needed.
- Participate in joint calls with lenders.
4. VENDOR MANAGEMENT
Prepare analysis of financial stability for all new vendors and those existing vendors that require
annual review.
5. CASH MANAGEMENT REVIEW
- Prepare financial analysis of any business applying for ACH or RDC services at the Bank.
- Work with Loan Officers and Branch Managers to prepare annual review and limit
recommendations for existing ACH and RDC customers.
Secondary Duties
- Maintain an awareness of economic, financial and industrial trends as well as competitive area factors.
This includes the development and/or enhancement of a reference library and sources to assist assessing
economic risk of commercial loan clients.
- Attend Loan Committee meetings as necessary. Prepare and provide Committee with pertinent credit
related information.
