Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Relationship Banker is to manage the day to day banking needs of our clients while ensuring a high level of hospitality and client service. This includes meeting with potential clients, opening accounts, problem solving, online banking assistance, daily cash and teller functions, responding to inquiries and fielding questions to the appropriate departments.

Primary Duties

  1. Provide excellent client service and hospitality, both internally and externally.
  2. Ensure all cash drawers at branch balance daily within prescribed tolerances.
  3. Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of laws and regulations relating to teller services including but not limited to bank security policies & procedures.
  4. Ensure all cash policies and procedures are followed to manage risk, reduce losses, and receive satisfactory audit ratings.
  5. Assist with business development and community affairs activities as needed.
  6. Assist Business Bankers and Retail Bankers with projects as needed.
  7. Promote a sales environment in which tellers are familiar with Bank products and services and are able to comfortably and consistently match appropriate products to customer needs. Be able to use available opportunities to strengthen customer relationships through the sale and referral of appropriate Bank products and services. Promote the bank through business development efforts.
  8. Acts as the main contact for new accounts, closing accounts, account maintenance, etc.
  9. Maintain a thorough knowledge of bank security policies and procedures individually and for the associates at the branch.
  10. Administrative Duties (i.e., overdrafts, reconciling, etc.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Two years of previous Teller and banking experience.
  • Demonstrated effective verbal communication skills as indicated by courteous and tactful, and effective interactions with customers, coworkers, and subordinates.
  • Thorough knowledge of Bank products, as well as the policies and procedures that relate to the Teller department.
  • Sales and service-oriented team player skills.
