Job Description

In this position, you will lead the Eden Prairie location's Universal Banking department functions to support efficient bank operations. You will supervise staff, manage customer service activities, and meet with customers to help with questions. You will originate consumer loans, credit cards, home equity lines, and other consumer lending products as a consumer lender. Your other responsibilities include keeping staff current with banking rules, policies, and procedures and directing day-to-day activities in a team-based approach. Essential Job Functions

  • Direct the bank location's Universal Banking department and implement overall operating standards; manage customer service activities to align with the bank's goals and objectives, including regular review of bank products and fee structures
  • Supervise departmental staff and distribute workloads through a team-based approach, modelling desired behavior; work with management and employees to achieve daily preferred outcomes
  • Represent the bank at community events and gatherings; act as an ambassador of the bank in the local market; maintain relationships with key customers and develop referral networks in order to locate prospects for bank services
  • For consumer loan applicants, negotiate terms and conditions, structure loan financing based on risk considerations, review and decision loans within specified limits, and present loan applications outside of those limits for approval to appropriate levels of authority
  • Solicit, evaluate, negotiate, underwrite, approve or recommend approval, and coordinate closing of consumer and real estate loans in compliance with the bank's lending policies and procedures
  • Extend credit to individuals through a wide variety of consumer, real estate (Home Equity/HELOCS) and/or commercial (construction) programs, then maintain and service the consumer loan portfolio
  • Recommend services to meet client needs and expand client relationships
  • Ensure that credit inquires and UCC filings are researched to determine credit worthiness and appropriate collateral positioning are achieved
  • Coordinate processing of approved loans; ensure loans are processed according to agreement, client needs, and conforms to Bank lending policies
  • Approve loan disbursements, draws from lines of credit, and fund transfers in accordance with specified limits
  • Monitor existing loan portfolio to ensure proper risk ratings and early identification of potential problems; negotiate payment arrangements with clients who have delinquent loans
  • Answer phones, greet customers and provide courteous customer service to customers
  • Handle customer questions and take appropriate action to resolve customer requests
  • Provide a variety of management and administrative support to executive leadership on special projects
  • Generate and analyze periodic reports
  • Ensure compliance with banking laws, regulations, and the Bank’s policies and procedures, including Bank Secrecy Act
  • Maintain continuing education related to regulatory standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or Economics or equivalent work experience
  • Prior experience in lending with knowledge of consumer loan procedures preferred
  • Bank leadership experience preferred
