SUMMARY:
As a bank teller you will represent our bank to the community and make our customers feel welcome. We are looking for people who are dependable, self-motivated, and work well in a team environment. In this position, you will assist customers, potential customers, and team members by providing a superior level of service in a professional and polite manner. You will need to be highly organized and detail oriented, with strong multitasking, problem solving and follow-up skills. Our Front-Line Tellers are responsible for following and adhering to all bank operational and security policies and procedures including compliance and privacy policies, as well as procedures to maintain customer confidentiality.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure positive public perceptions of the Bank by extending a courteous greeting and welcome to customers and visitors
  • Process all customer account transactions accurately and in accordance with bank policies & procedures
  • Answer questions and resolve problems for customers concerning bank services
  • Prepare, review, and verify daily reports assigned by management
  • Answer and transfer telephone calls and assist with customer requests or issues
  • Consistently maintain a balanced cash drawer (this includes maintaining a predetermined amount of cash in window necessary to meet customer demand)
  • Adhere to bank security policies and maintain confidentiality of bank records and client information
  • Be an effective back-up Receptionist/New Accounts representative
  • Sell, buy, and count cash and roll coin for our customers
  • Assist customers requesting access to their safe deposit boxes and collect and accurately post safe deposit box payments

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Great customer services skills (considerate, friendly, courteous, polite)
  • Strong and effective written and verbal communication
  • Ability to multitask, organize and prioritize projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Windows, Internet and pertinent software for this department
  • Ability to operate a 10-key calculator and other office equipment
  • Strong Mathematical skills
  • Ability to interpret reports
  • Good at building relationships (with both customers and team members)
  • Ability to work well in small groups (demonstrates a courteous and constructive attitude toward fellow employees)
  • High level or accuracy, detail, focus and timeliness.

Education & Experience
POSITION REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2 years’ experience in banking, finance, or customer service (preferred, not required)
  • Basic Math skills
  • Basic Computer Skills (as mentioned in the section above)
