Summary:
This position is responsible for a variety of operations duties, in which figure aptitude is required, including: basic routine posting and balancing, editing of account maintenance, document scanning, processing of all daily procedures and other operational duties as assigned. Responds to operations questions from internal customers in a professional manner and communicates both verbally and written in a clear and concise manner. An Operations Specialist II has full knowledge of banking regulations and will generally have 5-7 years of experience. They display a high level of professionalism and exhibit confidence and initiative in all areas of the Operations Specialist job responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Operations Specialist:

  • Performs daily operational transactions and procedures which may include: account reconciliation, check and ACH returns, non-posts, stop pays, chargebacks, account maintenance edits, wires, adjustments, etc. These duties require the employee to be able to multitask as well as meet deadlines.
  • Processes special forms and bank statements and prepares them for mailing.
  • Performs a variety of accounting duties such as: verifying, monitoring and balancing internal accounts.
Operations Specialist II - An Operations Specialist II is able to perform all essential duties/responsibilities listed above and possesses the ability and confidence to:
  • Research, prepare and coordinate the retrieval of all bank documents by assigned deadlines and in compliance with current regulations. Perform report writing and processing as needed.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of changing trends and regulations that relate to operational policies and service standards in order to identify and mitigate risks (financial, reputational, security, customer) associated with the operational process.
  • May perform complex accounting duties and exercise a higher level of judgment while reconciling daily general ledger, identifying differences and resolving complex outstanding differences.
  • Work with the Operations Manager to identify potential training issues and on projects as assigned.
  • Show a high level of proficiency with bank computer programs and Microsoft Office.
  • Assists others in resolving problems and approving transactions within authority levels.
Position Hours:
This position is scheduled 40 hours per week.
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • High level of proficiency with banking software and Microsoft Office
  • 5-7 years job related experience
