Job Description
The Relationship Banking Officer is responsible for developing, tracking, monitoring and promoting an above-average sales and service environment in Personal Banking, including all training aspects for the Personal Banking staff. Works with lead bankers to assess staff development needs to improve Bank profitability, increase growth and manage risk. Encourages and models a high-level of teamwork and motivation. Provides technical and practical problem solving and specialized services to Bank management and staff while maintaining adherence to all Bank policies, procedures, compliance and control requirements. This position assists in attaining Bank goals through active participation in the Personal Banking Department and bank activities.
  • Perform day-to-day personal banking duties.
  • Oversee Personal Banking training and development programs and act as a liaison between Operations and Personal Banking.
  • Work with Managers, Operations, Marketing, Credit Administration and Compliance to identify development needs and create training programs to increase productivity and build effectiveness.
  • Develop, track and monitor Personal Banking goals.
  • Track and monitor overdrafts, waived fees, portfolios and sales of Personal Banking employees.
  • Assist with increasing effectiveness of cash management and other banking products.
  • Ensure operational and technological aspects of Personal Banking are addressed. Assist in identifying ways to maximize system technology utilization and process improvement.
  • Provide training program and assessment tools for all Personal Banking staff, focusing on customer service and sales.
Education & Experience
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Management preferred or the equivalent combination of education and experience. Three year’s banking experience including 2 years as a manager.
  • Effective communication, critical thinking and team-building skills.
  • Proven ability to build teams and develop employees using effective training, coaching and management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5-7 year year’s banking experience.
Cognitive/Physical Demands
  • Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods of time in an office setting.
  • Good organization and time-management skills.
