Job Description
Community Resource Bank located in Northfield, MN is seeking an energetic innovative leader to join our team as President and CEO. Community Resource Bank is a $300 million bank with offices in Northfield, Roseville and Cannon Falls.

Primary Functions:

The President/CEO is responsible for overall management and performance of the Bank. This individual creates vision and provides leadership throughout the Bank and ensures profitability and growth goals are met while maintaining a low to moderate risk profile. The President/CEO collaborates with the Board of Directors, the management team and staff to establish strategic direction, objectives, core values and policies for the Bank and allocates resources accordingly. This individual will oversee and direct the day-to-day operations as well as the ability to grow the Bank and achieve the mission, vision and values of the Bank. The President/CEO must have the ability to work with the Board, lead and inspire staff and implement strong internal controls and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership
    • Creates and communicates vision, mission and strategy
    • Sets direction, communicates strategies, provides guidance and ranks priorities
    • Collaborates with and oversees Senior Management
    • Creates positive relationships, inspires high performance and promotes a leads by example environment for service and teamwork standards
    • Ensures a positive, rewarding and respectful culture
    • Empowers others and finds common ground to achieve goals
  • Management
    • Provides communication and feedback on accomplishments, challenges and changes to goals
    • Ensures managers are developing, leading and holding employees accountable
    • Manages and develops tactical business plans and budgets
    • Provides guidance for activities including salary administration, incentives and performance objectives, ensuring solid efforts towards attainment of goals
    • Sets acceptable risk management levels for the Bank
    • Member and active participant of the Asset-Liability Management Committee
    • Oversees bank-wide accountability for internal audit and compliance
    • Oversees bank-wide information technology plans
    • Reviews legislation and legal decisions impacting the banking industry and ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and statutes
  • Lending/Credit
    • Member and active participant of the Bank Credit Committee
    • Approves/denies loans in accordance with individual lending limit
    • Keeps apprised of past dues/watchlist/non-accruals
    • Member and active participant of Bank’s Special Assets Committee
  • Community Involvement/Business Development
    • Represents the Bank and provides leadership in the communities served by the Bank
    • Maintains good Bank/community relationships which result in a very positive image of the Bank
    • Promotes community involvement/encourages employee involvement
    • Assists in developing new Bank clients and enhancing existing Bank client relationships
Education & Experience
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Education/Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in business or finance preferred. Bachelor’s degree and relevant banking experience also considered.
    • 10+ years of banking experienced in a senior management role
    • Experience managing a high performing bank
    • Thorough knowledge in all aspects of a financial institution including lending, deposits, bank operations, IT, legal, compliance/audit and human resources
    • Project management experience preferred
  • Ability to:
    • Establish culture and values
    • Provide vision and lead employees to achieve bank’s mission
    • Interpret financial reports, government regulations and legal documents
    • Listen to understand, not to simply reply
    • Negotiate
    • Prioritize tasks and projects
    • Resolve issues and problems as they arise
    • Work independently and as a team player
    • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Special Requirements
    • High level of professionalism, service and community spirit
    • Strong customer service skills
