Job Description
The Retail Sales Manager is responsible for the conception, development and execution of programs and tactics that help United Prairie Bank, further its financial health, increase market share and build brand and franchise value.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of:
    • Management of Retail mortgage lending
    • Direct leadership, coaching and management of Mortgage Loan Officers
    • In-house Retail mortgage lending
  • Coaching of Retail Managers to carry forth the sales culture which will include but not be limited to:
    • Retail credit
    • Retail deposit generation
    • Retail cross sales to business units
  • With the participation of the executive team, develop programs and systems for banking to achieve their strategic goals related to retail staff.
  • Stay up to date of current industry practices and approaches, communicate those to the executive team and recommend courses of action in regard to their use by the organization.
  • Establish and maintain a consistent corporate image throughout all product lines, promotional materials and events.
  • Evaluate sales related technologies in regard to growth & profitability and recommend actions.
  • Provide timely and accurate reports regarding sales performance and market share as agreed upon by the executive team.
This position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer. Discussion on work objectives will be held monthly while the majority of the work is done independently with set priorities, performance standards and functional accountabilities.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position will have direct management responsibility of the Mortgage Loan Officers. As a leader, you will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Must understand all aspects of managing and motivating staff. This can include goal setting, coaching, measuring performance and providing feedback to continually improve performance.

  • Utilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others; advocates sound financial/business decision making; demonstrates honesty/integrity; leads by example.
  • Communicates the strategic goals, the focus and the owner priorities to subordinates in a clear and precise manner.
  • Leverages strong functional leadership and communication skills to positively influence and to lead the team.
Education & Experience
  • A four-year college degree in business or equivalent work experience required with 10+ years in retail and sales management.
  • 3-5 years of Community banking experience preferred.
  • Superior levels of professionalism, integrity and reliability.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in the sales process.
  • Demonstrated ability to form, develop and lead high-performing teams.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions.
  • Ability to use sound judgment and discretion with the utmost confidentiality.
  • Competent in MS Office and Windows.
  • Occasional day travel may be required for training/meeting purposes
