Job Description
The Chief Credit Officer will be responsible for:
  1. Leading the bank's credit risk management and administration efforts, including credit underwriting/approval, loan documentation and problem asset management.
  2. Working collaboratively within the bank's senior management team with emphasis on Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Banking Officer.
  3. Supporting the bank's risk management efforts and board reporting with emphasis on Credit, Enterprise Risk Management, and Audit.
  4. Preparing written analyses on all large loans, aggregate lending vs. indebtedness for individual borrowers, complex loans and weak loans.
  5. Providing leadership to and ongoing development of the credit analysts, and the loan operations team.
  6. Chairing the bank's credit committee. Arranging for loan applications to go to the committee. Providing an overview and recommendation for the committee.
  7. Evaluating and recommending policy changes based on compliance or loan reviews.
  8. Assuring documentation is in compliance with loan committee approvals, state and federal regulations.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a 4-year college plus additional lending, compliance, and audit related training.

Minimum of 8 to 10 years experience in bank lending, loan review and/or compliance experience or equivalent education in bank lending, loan review / compliance procedures and policies.

This is a new position at Drake Bank, so the successful candidate will help to shape the credit administration function. He or she will need to have solid understanding of credit underwriting, risk management, operations, participation loans, credit policies and procedures. Experience with problem loan management is desired. Previous management experience is preferred.
