Job Description
The Bank of Elk River currently has a full time Security Officer opening at our Main Street Office in Elk River.

This position is responsible for the physical security of all the bank’s buildings, assets and welfare of employees. They are also responsible for assisting in the bank’s management and monitoring of cybersecurity risk. This position provides oversight and/or guidance in the areas of loss prevention, dealing directly with fraud perpetrated against the bank and customers, and the collection and prosecution of the fraudsters. Administers security programs, procedures and training of staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Development of security programs, procedures and policies to limit theft or exposure of the bank’s assets, customer information or employee data.
  • Works directly with vendors to implement physical security systems, cameras, alarms, equipment, etc. Monitors tracking and performance of mechanisms.
  • Works in conjunction with the operations team to investigate and monitor fraud that the bank or customers encounter, by implementing policies and procedures to help prevent fraud and by dealing with the collection and prosecution of the fraudsters with law enforcement.
  • Assist the Information Security Officer in the oversight and daily management of cybersecurity risk.
  • Responsible for training staff on security and robbery procedures and awareness of current or potential fraud to help in loss prevention.
*This position currently serves on the IS&T committee.
Education & Experience
  • AA degree and/or 3-5 years of related experience
  • Experience in Security (physical or cyber) and fraud detection/prevention preferred
  • Previous banking experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and on special projects
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • High level of ethics and professionalism
