Job Description

The Credit Analyst is responsible for analyzing and interpreting financial data to evaluate risk and determine appropriate credit rating for new and existing customers, creating client proposals and maintaining client files. The Credit Analyst is expected to provide technical and practical problem-solving and specialized support services to bank customers and staff. The individual assists in attaining established Bank and branch goals through active participation in credit and investment management and is expected to provide leadership, training and support to less experienced staff members.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for collecting and analyzing financial related data to determine credit worthiness of prospective and/or current customer(s). Preparation of financial spreadsheets and presentations on clients. Participate in presenting that information to managers and members of senior staff.
  • Review risk classification definitions compared to actual risk ratings on loans.
  • Prepare annual reviews on credits to ensure compliance with loan policy.
  • Provide excellent customer service to customers and employees by providing ongoing support via verbal and written communications while adhering to all Bank and Department policies and procedures.
  • Ability to problem solve, negotiate and persuade customers. Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Analyze economic and financial trends using solid math and analytical skills.
Education & Experience
Minimum Qualifications
  • BA or BS in Business, Finance, Economics or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Industry experience including: training in financial statements and tax return analysis resulting from a combination of education and experience in accounting, financial and/or credit analysis or related areas.

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years direct industry experience in Commercial Real Estate underwriting.
