Job Description
The Client/Server Systems Engineer is responsible for all activities relating to computer operations in a client and server environment. This position establishes detailed schedules for the utilization of all information systems equipment to obtain maximum effectiveness. This position assists in development of standard operating procedures and consults with personnel in other information systems sections to coordinate activities.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Identify and analyze MCFC requirements for servers, storage and application processing and develops recommendations for new or enhanced systems, services and technologies throughout the company.
  2. Evaluate servers, storage, application processing and integrated system solutions relative to functionality, performance, cost effectiveness and manageability in order to meet the needs of the organization.
  3. Create, update, and maintain accurate procedures for completing common activities.
  4. Actively monitor the server and storage infrastructure and related systems to identify and rectify potential issues prior to the end user being affected during normal, and after business hours.
  5. Display initiative by actively identifying and communicating opportunities for improvements, projects, ideas, and other possible areas of improvement in a positive and professional manner.
  6. Takes decisive action on opportunities to achieve specific outcomes and conveys a sense of urgency when appropriate and persists in the face of obstacles.

Education & Experience
Education
  • Required: High School Diploma
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
Certifications
  • Required: Basic ITIL understanding and MCP Certification
  • Preferred; MCSE Certification and ITIL Foundation
Experience
  • Required: Minimum of 5+ years directly related work experience in Server, SAN, and application administration.
  • Prior Hands-on experience with Dell Compellent SAN, VMWare, IBM Blade Center, the Microsoft suite of enterprise applications.
  • Working knowledge of Citrix Xen suite of products.
  • Prior experience with Oracle or Fiserv applications.
