Job Description

WBD, one of the nation's leading Certified Development Companies (CDCs), is seeking a Minnesota Loan Officer to help expand our SBA 504 lending presence throughout Minnesota. This position may be based anywhere in Minnesota and will initially operate remotely. As a Minnesota Loan Officer, you will develop and maintain relationships with banks, credit unions, economic development organizations, business owners, and other referral partners. You will serve as a trusted advisor and SBA financing resource while guiding transactions from initial prospecting through closing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop new business opportunities and expand WBD's presence throughout Minnesota.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with lending partners, referral sources, and business owners. Educate lenders and borrowers on SBA 504 financing programs.
  • Conduct presentations, meetings, and training opportunities within your market.
  • Collaborate with underwriting, closing, servicing, and management teams to ensure a seamless customer experience. Serve as the primary point of contact throughout the lending process.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service while helping small businesses access capital for growth and expansion.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of two years of commercial lending, business banking, relationship management, or related financial services experience.
  • SBA lending experience preferred.
  • Credit analysis or underwriting experience preferred.
  • Strong business development and relationship management skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfortable working independently in a remote environment.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel within Minnesota.
