Merchants Bank is in search of a Senior Lending Officer for our North region with locations in Cannon Falls, Red Wing, Hastings, Cottage Grove, Rosemount, Lakeville, Apple Valley, Northfield, Hampton and Eau Claire.

This position is part of the Regional Senior Bank Management Leadership Team with responsibility for the overall management of the loan portfolio, loan approval system, loan documentation and credit administration functions. This individual will exercise appropriate credit risk management and ensure all lending and credit administration activities are compliant and within defined risk tolerance expectations. Will be an active participant in the establishment of the annual business planning, budgeting, and implementation with the other members of the Regional Team with the responsibility to manage the credit function in a manner consistent with the Bank’s community banking vision, mission, culture and lending philosophy.

Position requires BS/BA Degree, a minimum of 10 years progressively responsible supervisory/management experience in a financial institution, including 10 years in business and/or agricultural lending. Position requires individual to be action-oriented, an excellent team player, ability to manage time and work effectively, manage self-development, possess effective oral and written communication skills, and leadership skills. Will be a mentor for other lenders.
