Job Description

The is position can be at any of our three Minnesota locations ( Sauk Center, Long Prairie or Pelican Rapids).

Primary responsibilities are applying professional knowledge and skills in the preparation and presentation of financial and other decision-oriented information to appropriate areas of the bank. Responsible for of the oversight of the accounting team and any duties associated with that role such as: general ledger account balancing, correspondent bank statement balancing, fixed asset tracking, periodic report preparation, exam and audit coordination. Candidate will assist the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) with various general ledger and research projects.

Responsibilities:

  • develop a trusted partnership with your teammates by listening and seeking to understand the business and its challenges
  • obtain and maintain in depth understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure
  • analyze and interpret financial information to assist in the decision making process
  • ALM management and corporate budget preparation
  • participate in the management of investment portfolio
  • prepare monthly board reports
  • responsible for daily fund management and securities portfolio

Education & Experience

  • college degree required, emphasis in accounting or finance preferred
  • CPA or CFA preferred or desire to obtain
  • 4+ years of previous accounting experience required
  • 1+ year of management experience, preferred
  • exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to evaluate risks and the impact of decisions on an overall organization
  • strong desire to learn and openness to be taught a new way of doing things
  • natural curiosity, effectiveness, and a way of being that people around you aspire to emulate
  • ability to work with detailed information in an efficient and accurate manner, while meeting established deadlines
  • demonstrated proactiveness and perseverance in complex environments
